Pizza Colore: Authentic NYC-Style Pizza in Boulder

There is a story here. I consider myself a New Yorker. There are few places in this world where the food is unparalleled. And I’m not talking Michelin star. But delicious amazing food in every corner. From $14.00 for two people to $1000. The pizza, bagels, Nathan’s hot dogs, and ethnic authentic cuisine are unmatched. Because they don’t cater to the masses but to the integrity of the individualism. And will follow their unique essence. I was walking around and saw this little pizza place in the heart of downtown Bolder Co. I asked an employee who was wearing a NYC cap if he thought it was authentic. He said undoubtedly yes. The owner happened the there too. And graciously added that his pizza was absolutely a NYC authentic pizza. I of course responded, adding that no pizza outside of NYC was really authentic (I had pizza in Italy, so the bar was high) I was absolutely impressed. The pizza was delicious! Thin crispy crust, with a perfect harmony of ingredients that made it absolutely delicious. And yes NYC got nothing on you Pizza Colore

Great pizza but even better staff. I wish I knew his name, but the gentleman with a ponytail and light brown/red hair showed a tremendous amount of courage in the wake of the recent attack on Pearl Street. He did not hesitate to render aid to victims while the scene was anything but secured. I’m a regular at this place (spicy pep is the best) and he also offers exceptional customer service. The owner is a nice guy, too. Pizza Calore has been a staple in my diet since moving to Boulder. I hope this guy gets rewarded with a little recognition outside of this review, maybe some paid time off considering what he had to witness, or a bonus. Thanks to this business and the individuals working there for making Boulder an awesome community.

While visiting friends, we took a ride into Boulder and were looking for a pizza place for 6 for lunch. Having grown up with NY style pizza, I wasn't expecting great pizza but we ordered an Americana (meat+veggie) Pizza. All I can say is Wow! This this place DEFINITELY surprised us. The pizza was excellent and completely on par with NY pizza! Nice thin crust and really tasty sauce. Liked it so much that I went back for a couple of cannolis. These two were superb. Very nice texture and sweetness on the filling. Highly recommend eating here.

I've worked at seemingly every pizza place on the front range, and was skeptical when I saw the guy behind the counter essentially move to reheat my order. Well, I shouldn't have been. Whatever their formula for par cooking, then rapidly finishing the slices when you order, they have got it down pat. Had a smoked provolone and pepperoni and a Hawaiian inspired slice. No Canadian bacon or bacon bits, freaking beautiful slices of breakfast bacon. Two of the best slices I've eaten anywhere. Drinks are a little pricey, but that's the only thing I have to day negative. The front patio is an amazing place to people watch, too.

Love this place! Favorite pizza stop in Boulder. Was feeling adventurous and tried their Chile Colorado slice and it blew me away. Green Chile, chicken, and hominy made for an amazing pizza experience so I grabbed a whole pie. Highly recommend!

I’m a northern NJ native and when I walked into this place, I felt like I walked off the street in a New York borough. The pizza is the best I’ve had in my 9 years of living in Colorado, hands down without hesitation. The owner and staff are so incredibly sweet and friendly. I used to get white pies with broccoli in Jersey all the time and was so thrilled when I saw broccoli was a topping here!! Authentic as hell, absolutely worth a drive if you’re not already in Boulder but if you are this place is a MUST STOP!

I'm an out-of-stater who comes to Boulder every year for the BB 10k, and every year I look forward to Pizza Colore's pesto pizza. I love pizza, I try it in just about every city/state I visit, and I'm telling y'all, this is it. Don't sleep on it. I'm usually the type to prefer a meat on my slice, but I'm actually afraid it would ruin the perfection of the pesto and cheese. Plus, all of their pizzas have a beautiful crust, so even if you get a plain cheese slice the whole thing is good from tip to end. Thank you for always being my go-to!!
